Well, it’s the last week of 2014! The last part of this year seems to have flown by. Anyone else feel like that?
We had a great Christmas with family. Lot of food, just the right amount of presents and more presence than ever before. It was really good. Very relaxing. We’re home now and ready to bring in the new year. One of our family traditions is to have a picnic style dinner on Christmas Eve. It didn’t work out this year because we were travelling that night so instead we are going to have our meal on New Years Eve instead and pair it with movies and games with the kids. Should make for a fun evening.
So with the ‘big’ part of the Christmas break being over and all the food finally slowing down to a normal amount, I have opted for easy healthy meals to ease us back in. So here is our menu plan for this week:
Monday – Spinach & Ham Quiche
Tuesday – Spaghetti Bolognese
Wednesday – Picnic style meal (dips, veggies, apps, etc)
Thursday – leftovers from the picnic
Friday – Burrito Bowls
Saturday – Sweet & Sour Meatballs on Rice
Sunday – Pizza
For our picnic meal we will be having:
Buffalo Chicken Dip
Halidip (seriously an amazing dip if you love Donairs!)
Shrimp with shrimp sauce
Cheese and crackers
Veggies and dip
Bacon wrapped jalapenos
Fruit (pineapple, apple slices, etc)
Pickled Onions, Olives and Gherkins
I’ll bet you’re jealous 😉 We used to have chips and stuff as well but since we changed our eating habits we don’t do that anymore and we try to keep things as clean and real as possible. Do you ever do picnic/appetizer style meals?
