Lunenburg, So Beautiful, So Colourful #Travel #VisitNovaScotia

Lunenburg, Nova ScotiaLast year when we visited Lunenburg with the kids I didn’t get a chance to go into the shops and just walk around and enjoy the scenery. The beautiful architecture and many colours of the buildings. We did family things and it was really enjoyable. This year was different, this year I got to hit the shops and browse down the main street. It was glorious.

Lunenburg, Nova ScotiaI went into all the little shops. Found this super tasty jam made from a berry called a Hasakap, which apparently has more antioxidants in them than blueberries. The berries are grown just a little ways outside of Lunenburg. We went into a gorgeous kitchen store, they had so many unique gadgets. We enjoyed some local homemade ice cream, which was heavenly, I had a homemade mint chip that was seriously THE best I have ever had!

Look at this colour combo on this building, it works in Nova Scotia but I dare say people wouldn’t try these colour combinations here in Ontario!

Lunenburg, Nova Scotia

Lunenburg, Nova ScotiaAnd we just simply walked and enjoyed the sites and looked at all the touristy trinkets and wearables. I just really had a lot of fun. I would’ve loved to take the horse-drawn buggy tour as well, but we were a little tired from a busy day of walking and exploring.

We were also lucky to get a chance to see the Bluenose II. She was still being repaired and prepared for sailing, but it was a sight to see none the less. Our pictures just can’t do it justice.

The masts on the Bluenose II were HUGE, I would’ve loved to see it with the sails fully deployed. What a sight that would be.

Have you ever been to Lunenburg?
